  • Number Hero Competition Success for Isabelle

    We are delighted to share that Isabelle J in Year 7 has been chosen as a runner up in the recent national  Number Heroes Competition  to celebrate National Numeracy Day across England.

    The aim of National Numeracy Day (on May 22)  is to celebrate numbers and how we use them in everyday life. The day is designed to encourage people to feel curious about numbers, explore how they can benefit them in their day to day life and give them the confidence to develop and improve their numeracy skills.

  • Summer Music Concert

    Our students, across all year groups from Year 7 through to Year 13, treated a packed theatre of their family members to a selection of wonderful performances at our summer music concert last night.  

    The audience enjoyed a variety of pieces ranging from The Accolay Concerto, Norah Jones to Sean Mendes.  Performances ranged from soloists playing Saxophone, piano, euphonium and singing to rock bands, pop choir, steel pans and our wind band.

  • Year 11 Celebration Day

    On Monday 8 July we celebrated our Year 11 students. The Year 11 Celebration Day started in the morning with the opportunity for students to come together to all meet again and sign shirts before enjoying their Leavers Assembly in the theatre looking back over their time at North Leamington School.    

       

      

    Their Leavers assembly included: inspirational words and messages from teachers, reflected on their journey, recognitions for achievements and contributions to school life along with student and teacher awards.  

     

     

     

     

     

     

    During the evening over 200 students enjoyed their Prom at Chesford Grange.  There was great excitement as students arrived in a variety of styles from sports cars to Limos with plenty of photos being taken. 

      

      

      

      

    Students enjoyed a buffet dinner and were then able to mingle with their peer groups and friends with plenty more photos being taken throughout the evening along with the opportunity for students to have a professionally taken photograph as a keepsake and, of course, dancing.

  • NLS Mock Election 2024

    This week students have had the opportunity to be involved in our very own mock election here at North Leamington School.  The aim was to stimulate further interest in the real Election event and for students to engage with the democratic process.

    Year 12 Politics students, Leo, Karim, Noah, Isaac, Raph and James each represented a party based on those who have taken place in the election debates on TV (Conservatives, Green, Labour, Liberal Democrats, Plaid Cymru (The Party of Wales), Reform & the Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP) and created a one minute video. (Whilst the students volunteered to represent the parties of their choosing they were not necessarily ones they personally believed in.)

  • Year 13 Celebrate at their Prom

    We were delighted to celebrate with our wonderful Year 13 students at their prom on Tuesday 2 July.  It was lovely to reminisce about the past few years and to look forward to all the terrific things which await them in the future.

    After a (mercifully) brief set of speeches, students and staff enjoyed some great food in a plush setting; the mood was a perfect blend of relaxed, yet vibrant. Following the meal it was time to hit the dance floor or to talk the evening away.

     

      

    It was a real privilege to be part of such a terrific send-off.  Well done all and best wishes for the future.

  • Whole School Celebration Evening

    On Thursday 27 June we celebrated our students at our annual Whole School Celebration Evening.

    Students across Years 7 to 13 were nominated by staff for their outstanding contribution for a range of reasons including exceptional learning behaviours in and out of the classroom and contributions to school life beyond the curriculum.

    Students were nominated in each year group based on their outstanding contributions at a Faculty level (CORE, Humanities and Performance), to their Year Group and Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

  • Congratulations to our Year 12 students completing their Gold DofE Qualifying Expedition ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

    Congratulations to our Year 12 Students who, last weekend, completed their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Qualifying Expedition.

    Over four days the students walked in the region of 75km (46 miles), reaching heights of up to 800m within the Snowdonia National Park all whilst carrying all of their kit, in some cases weighing up to 17kg.

  • North Leamington School wins Educational Setting of the Year at the Carers Awards ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​2024

    We are delighted to share that North Leamington School won the Educational Setting of the Year Award 2024 at the Carers Trust Heart of England, Carer Awards Event held on Thursday 14 June.
    NLS were nominated by Matt Deakin (Assessment Officer for Caring Together Warwickshire) and we are absolutely delighted to have been selected as the winners by the judging panel.
    Carers Trust Heart of England support unpaid carers throughout Coventry & Warwickshire. The awards event was held during Carers Week; during Carers Week the aim is to recognise, support and raise the profile of unpaid carers in the community.

  • Year 8 Basketball Team Bronze Medal Success at Jr NBA Finals​​​​​​​

    Congratulations to our Year 8 Basketball team who have won a bronze medal at the  Jr NBA Finals.  The team travelled to Nottingham to compete after qualifying for the finals by finishing top of their league, of five teams where they were unbeaten, and progressing through the last 16 and quarter-final games.

  • Success at Town Championship Athletics for Year 9 & 10 and a 38 year old record broken

    Our Year 9 and Year 10 athletes had a successful afternoon competing at the Town Championship Athletics event at Edmonscote Athletics track last week with a number of impressive performances; 11 of our students placed in the top 3 in their event.
