Pastoral Support
It is important that students at North Leamington Sixth Form are supported pastorally, as happy and healthy individuals are more likely to thrive and achieve their goals.
The tutor system in Sixth Form allows for a supportive, nurturing environment, where tutors get to know the students in their groups, offering individual tailored support with their wellbeing. This is supported with the tutor time curriculum, which covers a variety of topics and life skills, including boosting positive mental health & wellbeing, and giving students tools and strategies to cope with an ever-changing environment.
Through the enrichment programme, students take part volunteering in the local area, developing social skills and the understanding of the importance of supporting your community.
Throughout the year students organise and take part in a variety of charity events, raising money through bake sales, colour dress days and other events for charities selected by the current Senior Student Leadership Team.
The responsibility given to the Senior Student Leaders and Assistant Senior Student Leaders develops important life skills that are imperative for life after NLS.
All students in positions of responsibility are expected to play an active role in the life of the school, integrating with other year groups and implementing personally devised projects to make an impact during their time in office.
Students are encouraged to continue playing sport and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, whilst in the Sixth Form.
"Starting student leadership this year has been really exciting. Having participated in whole school events and already seeing students' ideas become incorporated into the school, I am looking forward to working with everyone to help create a more focused school experience and environment. I am really keen to build on enrichment and engage everyone in activities beyond their studies." Senior Student Leader
