Christian Club
Year Group: All Year Groups

When: Monday after school 3.15 - 4.00pm
A place where Christians or those wanting to learn about Christianity can come to share, socialise, learn and be with other Christians.
All welcome from Year 7 up to Year 13.
Creative Writing Club
Year Group: 7,8&9
Location: H020 With: Miss Fitzgerald
When: Wednesdays after school 3.30-4.00pm
A great opportunity for any new or already budding writers to take part in creative writing workshops with special guests working towards national competitions and develop their new and existing writing pieces with their peers. Students can begin to break the boundaries of creative writing through contemporary forms such as art and concrete poetry, asemic writing and sentence stories.
VIBE Drama Club
Year Group: 7,8,9 & 10

VIBE Drama Club develops confidence and resilience with Drama Games, Drama Skills and Drama Strategies to build on what has been learnt in Drama lessons as well as new skills such as Mask Making and exploring Practitioners. Our Drama Leaders lead VIBE Drama Club.

Eco Club

This is an opportunity to learn about being more eco friendly and help the environment. We will be planting, creating and designing recycling projects.
History Club

History Club provides students with opportunities to discover, trace and develop their understanding of their family history. Through researching their families history on AncestryClassroom and beyond students can create family trees and build a connection to their past and make new discoveries.

Join in activities, games and solve puzzles to help develop logic and problem solving skills.
Music
Orchestra

Orchestra offers a great opportunity for string and wind instrument players to experience performing with an ensemble, prepare for school concerts and participate in performances in the local community. You will be playing music as part of a big group and It doesn't matter how experienced you are, all music will be made to suit your current level of ability.
Pop Choir

Great opportunity for any students who love to sing with others. It offers a great environment and opportunity for students to practise and perform a wide range of popular songs. The pop choir have become a regular feature in our winter and summer concerts.
Rock Band

Great opportunity for singers, vocalists, keyboard players, guitarists and drummers to come along. It’s a great way to develop technical skills on your chosen instrument and to make music in collaboration with like-minded students and musicians. It doesn't matter how experienced you are, all music will be made to suit your current level of ability.

The Steel Band music opportunity is very popular. It’s a great opportunity for students to have fun, learn a new skill and for some, to continue their musical journey from primary school. We have seen great enthusiasm in this club for the steel pans and are preparing music for the summer concert.

Philosophy club is a group where individuals gather to discuss and explore philosophical ideas, theories, and questions.

Science Journal Club

Meet to discuss scientific articles that are linked to A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics. We will look at articles on related topics such as medicine or sport, depending on what is of interest and use to the students who join.
The aim will be to help students with reading around the subject for their A Level courses and to give students a space to find out more about topics that interest them. It will also help to prepare students for the level of scientific literacy needed to study a science at university or work in a scientific field.

Clubs are run by our PE team and also other NLS teachers. We believe that extracurricular sport promotes and helps to develop a wide range of essential life skills such as team work, resilience, problem-solving, communication and leadership to name a few alongside developing their practical sporting ability.
The extra-curricular sporting clubs range from individual sports to team sports. All clubs are free to attend and are non-committal – you can attend as many sports clubs as you like to find the activities that you enjoy.
Warhammer Club

This is for students of any age who already paint or play Warhammer or who are interested in doing so. The club is a place for students to build, paint, and play Warhammer together.Warhammer can help young people to develop skills in arts, engineering, and strategic thinking.
