During December our tutor groups have been filling hampers with Christmas items and then, as a group, have decided who they would like to receive the hamper.

As we collate the hampers this week deliveries will start taking place to local care homes, the homeless shelter, food banks and elderly neighbours.

Thank you for all your generosity and kind donations - we are sure they will be very much appreciated.

  • The Arts students enjoy visit to three London Galleries

    Published 17/12/24

On 6 December, students studying A Level Art, Photography and Textiles visited three major art galleries in London: the Victoria and Albert Museum, Photographers’ Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery.

This enabled students to see, and appreciate, high-end art and support them in completing their coursework to a higher level with a critical understanding (particularly important for Assessment Object 1) that looks to see connections made between artists’ and student’s work.

Students enjoyed the exhibitions and were able to take photographs of the exhibits and the building. At the National Portrait Gallery the students saw the Permanent Collection and enjoyed the exciting opportunity to see the Francis Bacon Exhibition.

With specific tasks set, based on their subject area, for all three galleries, it ensured students were able to make the most of their time in London and then be able to show a sophisticated level of primary research in their coursework projects.

We will update with the final total in the New Year.

  • Year 13 Celebrate at Prom

    Published 05/07/24

We were delighted to celebrate with our wonderful Year 13 students at their prom on Tuesday 2 July.

It was lovely to reminisce about the past few years and to look forward to all the terrific things which await them in the future.  After a (mercifully) brief set of speeches, students and staff alike enjoyed some great food in a plush setting – the mood was a perfect blend of relaxed yet vibrant. Following food, it was time to hit the dance floor or to talk the evening away.

It was a real privilege to be part of such a terrific send-off.  Well done all and best wishes for the future.
