What Will I Study?

Students will understand and learn about the following topics, in three themes from the student’s and other people’s points of view, including people in countries/communities where French/German/Spanish is spoken.

What Skills Will I Develop?

Speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

 How Will I Be Assessed?

Students will be examined on listening, speaking, reading and writing, each of which make up 25% of the total mark. There are two levels, Higher or Foundation - the same tier for each skill / paper.

 

At KS4 students have the opportunity to study a second Modern Foreign Language: Spanish. Students may opt for only Spanish or Spanish and the language they have already studied for 2 years. However, as this will require students to complete the course in just three years, the Spanish option choice must be made in consultation with the MFL Department to ensure the student is capable.
