Year 11 Update Autumn 1 2022
The more effort you give, the more commitment you show, the more opportunities you’ll make, the further you’ll go.
Tutor Curriculum
Looking to the Future:
Students have been reflecting on last year to identify the things that they are most proud of and those that they need to focus on. These have included attendance, punctuality, attitude to staff and other students, attitude to their work as well as identifying things that they can do to develop their CV e.g. volunteering, getting a job, work experience, DofE, sports and music.
This has been followed by students looking at Post-16 destinations and researching qualifications, sectors and providers that they might be interested in.
Personal Statements and Mock Interviews:
More recently students have been reflecting on the feedback from their work experience placement, and using this to write a personal statement. On November 8th students will have the opportunity to have a mock interview with an external provider. This was a huge success last year, and one that was very much valued by students. More information will come via the parent communication.
DTTR and Mock Exams
The DTTR sessions have been in full swing and are providing much needed bespoke support for students, from experienced staff. Hopefully this, along with the revision sessions last year for the Year 10 RE exam, as well as the follow up sessions earlier this term will support students in making the best possible progress so that they can feel proud of their efforts.
Careers Fair 2022
The Year 9 to Year 11 Post GCSE Careers Fair will be taking place November 15th. This will provide an opportunity for Year 11 students to meet representatives from the full range of education and training providers.

Prom and Year Book
This is one of the highlights for Year 11. We will be looking to create a committee for both the Prom and the Year Book, shortly so that each of these is as representative of the student body’s wishes as possible.
