We are delighted to achieve the Quality in Careers Standard.

We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in achieving the Quality in Careers Standard. This is the single national quality award for careers education, information, advice and guidance in an education setting.

Holding a nationally validated Careers award demonstrates to those outside the education setting that a high standard has been reached.

The standard is fully aligned Gatsby Benchmarks for Good Career Guidance and fully complies with the Department for Education's Statutory Guidance.

To achieve the award we had to supply sufficient current evidence to demonstrate meeting all of our national accreditation criteria in our overall careers provision, with the accreditation assessment carried out by external specialists.

The Quality in Careers Standard uniquely accredits the four components of CEIAG:

  1. Careers Education
  2. Careers Information
  3. Careers Advice
  4. Careers Guidance

The DfE strongly recommends that all schools should work towards a quality award for careers education, information, advice and guidance as an effective means of carrying out a self-review and evaluation of a school’s career programme.

Sarah Barley-Morey, Careers Leaders here at NLS, commented we are immensely proud of our careers provision and the positive impact it has in supporting our students to develop the skills they need to make a positive impact on society and to make informed decisions about their future.
