NLS Student takes part in the Mini London Marathon
Year 10 Archie Lane’s development as an exciting long distance runner continues to progress as he was selected to take part in last weekend’s Mini London Marathon.
The Mini London Marathon provides the UK’s most promising young athletes the chance to compete against the best new talent in British road running. Over the years, the event has launched the careers of international athletics stars including Sir Mo Farah, who won the Mini Marathon three times.
Archie was selected by the West Midlands Team following a victory at a recent regional qualifying race, further building upon the success achieved last summer, where he came 1st in the 1500m final at an England Athletics event, crowning him as England Junior Boys Champion.
Archie did exceptionally well, finishing 6th in his age group overall, recording a time of 7 minutes 48 seconds over the 2.6km course.
Congratulations Archie – all of us at North Leamington School are incredibly proud of you!
