Success in funding from Turing Scheme allows a heavily subsidised opportunity for students to visit partner school in India

We are delighted to share that we have successfully secured funding from the Turing Scheme. The Turing Scheme is the UK government’s programme to provide funding for  international opportunities in education and training across the world.  Our successful application means we can offer twelve students a, heavily subsidised, opportunity to visit our partner school (Anjuman I’Islam Girls High School) in Mumbai.

During a week-long trip students will experience lessons with students from our partner school as well as guided tours to visit significant cultural sites and museums.

Students in Year 12 and Year 9 are able to apply for the opportunity and will be selected based on opportunities they have enjoyed during the wide variety of International School projects throughout their time at NLS including trips in Year 7, workshops in Year 8 and the numerous activities within tutor time and in the curriculum or as work they may have done as an International Leader.

Closing date for applications is November 4 and the trip is planned for March 2025.  A letter with more information and the application form were sent last Friday and can also be found on the website in the Parent and  Carers - Letters and Parent Bulletin

Mrs Harding, International Schools Coordinator here at NLS is thrilled that NLS have been awarded this grant and we have no doubt this will be an amazing opportunity for our students.
